Driving to Cobb Island
From Washington
DC/Northern Virginia area:
Take Maryland Route 5 Southbound (Washington Beltway Exit #7-A) towards
Waldorf. US-301 will join MD-5 just north of Waldorf. Follow US-301 (MD-5
will split off for St. Mary's City -- keep straight on US-301). Continue
through Waldorf, then on to La Plata. La Plata is the last major town
-- get gas, groceries and other supplies here if needed. Continue south
on US-301 approx. 11 miles beyond La Plata. Turn left onto MD-257 Rock
Point Road (signs will indicate "Swan Point/Issue, Cobb Neck). Continue
10 miles to MD-254 Cobb Island Road. Turn right on MD-254 and it is less
than a mile to Cobb Island. You can't miss it (because the road will end!)
From Baltimore MD area:
Take I-97 Southbound towards Annapolis. MD-3 will split just south of
Crofton. Continue south on MD-3, which will become US-301 just north of
Bowie. Follow US-301 through Waldorf, then on to La Plata. La Plata is
the last major town -- get gas, groceries and other supplies here if needed.
Continue south on US-301 11 miles beyond La Plata. Turn left onto MD-257
Rock Point Road (signs will indicate "Swan Point/Issue, Cobb Neck). Continue
10 miles to MD-254 Cobb Island Road. Turn right on Rt-254 and it is less
than a mile to Cobb Island. You can't miss it (because the road will end!)
From
Richmond/Fredericksburg VA area:
From Richmond area , take I-95 north to VA-205 at Bowling Green. VA-205 will join US-301 north...
From
Frederickburg area
, take VA-3 to US-301 north at King George...
Follow US-301 north to the
Potomac River Bridge. Once over the bridge, continue approx. 1
mile. Turn right onto MD-257 Rock Point Road (signs will indicate
"Swan Point/Issue, Cobb Neck). Continue 10 miles to MD-254 Cobb Island
Road. Turn right on MD-254 and it is less than a mile to Cobb Island. You
can't miss it (because the road will end!)
